Transition to Work (TtW)

If eligible we focus on building your skills, confidence and work-readiness by providing an intensive pre-employment program specific to your needs.

This can include

  • On-the-job training like a paid job trial or an internship
  • Work related licences for example white cards or blue cards
  • Helping you to find job opportunities in the local area e.g. through reverse marketing, etc.
  • Connecting you with relevant local community services as required
  • Providing you with personal skills workshops like budgeting and cooking
  • Assisting you with literacy and numeracy skills development
  • Providing industry and community guest speakers for you to learn from and engage with
  • Providing ongoing support after commencing employment or education

TtW is designed to help young people who have left school early or have had difficulty entering the workforce since school. To be eligible for TtW you must be:

  • aged 15-21
  • an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, New Zealand Special Category Visa or another nominated visa.
  • a person who not completed year 12 or a certificate III within the last 6 months*
  • a person who is not currently working an average of 8 hours a week (for participants who don’t receive a DHS payment) *
  • not currently participating in another Australian employment service (ie Job Active)

(* Indigenous Australians can access the services regardless of employment and education status.)
