This qualification reflects the role of workers who develop and facilitate programs for young people through a range of community-based programs designed to address the social, behavioural, health, wellbeing, developmental and protection needs of young people.

 

The Career:

Number of units: 17 in total – 15 Core and 2 Elective

Duration:  Up to 18 months from the date of commencement

Delivery method:

Online self-paced learning. Each unit of work is accompanied by pre-recorded webinars to guide you through each of the assessments.

Tutorials /Assistance:

  • Fortnightly tutorial sessions – Help is available fortnightly on Tuesdays 1pm – 2.30pm (QLD Time) to ask any question of your trainer in the online Tutorial sessions.
  • One on one online sessions for trainer support available fortnightly on Tuesday as required.
  • Email and phone support available as required.

Pre-requisites: None

Student requirements:

Must be 18 years of age to enrol. Students must attain a Working with Children Card (volunteer or paid) within the first 6 weeks of enrolment.

Work experience:

100 hours of work experience must be completed prior to the completion of the course. Students will be required to source their work experience placement.

Resources:

You will need access to a computer and reliable Wi-Fi for the duration of your course. Students must have access to Microsoft Suite including (Word). Course information material is written and includes some numerical calculations. If you do not hold a Year 12 pass or Certificate level lll qualification Worklinks will provide you with a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) indicator prior to enrolment in the course to assess your ability and any support that may be required including reasonable adjustments where necessary.

Unless you are working or volunteering in the sector Worklinks will provide simulated environments that model workplace conditions, as well as equipment, materials and resources used for workplace tasks. The course requires interactions with people with a range of needs and from diverse backgrounds. Students will have access to either real or simulated workplace documents including policies, procedures, regulations, legislation and processes.

Total     course     fee     =      $2800     (includes enrolment fee)

·         The first instalment of $1500 is due at the time of enrolment.

·         The second instalment of $1300 will be due 14 days after commencement.

Total course fee = $3083 (includes enrolment fee)

·         The first instalment will be the $299 enrolment fee and will be due at the time of enrolment.

·         The remaining amount of the course fee ($2784) will be divided into eleven (11) instalments of eleven equal instalments to be paid monthly.

The total course fee of $3083 must be paid before certification.
